Political Icons
Does anyone else see the irony in the political icons of today? I mean the take for instance the Democratic symbol is the donkey... That's right the image that was picked to represent the entire Democratic Party was a jackass! How do we as people look at Jackasses? How are they portrayed? Not very good apparently or you wouldn't hear it hurled around as an insult so frequently. Now on the other hand the Republican icon is an elephant. Now other than the fact the elephants are big and fat... what are they primarily known for? Their memory. "An elephant never forgets!" You can't just make this stuff up. I am telling you elephants are known for its supurb memory their amazing recollection. Being an Elephant is a good thing! Haven't you ever heard it said, "those who do not know their history are condemned to repeat it."? That's what one of the greatest European philosophers of the 19th century once said and its still true today! But how accurate are these portrayals? Lets take a look at our two most recent presidential candidates from the republican and the democratic party's, Starting with Bill Clinton. How is Bill remembered? For his Monica Lewinsky affair and how he made an a-hole out of himself lying under oath in front of the country. Hence the Jackass. Now lets Look at Bush what is he known for? The war on Terror. Ware is Bush from? Texas. And what are Texans known for doing?"Remembering the Alamo." Texans aren't the kind of people who start wars they just finish em'. Why else do you think people always say "Don't mess with Texas"? logically the answer would because Texas wont start something with you but if you mess with them you better believe they will finish you off. How fitting these Icons truly are! So at the end of the day the question that remains is this; Do you want to be represented by a jackass or by an elephant who never forgets? I will choose to be represented by an elephant. That is why I am a republican and that is why I, Griffin Voorhees approve this message!
